چکیده

Block Relative Gain (BRG) is a useful method for finding suitable pairings for block decentralized control. In this paper, we present some new algebraic properties of BRG and establish its relation with closed loop stability, controllability, block diagonal dominance and interactions. Contrary to published conjecture, we show that strongly interacting systems can have BRG that is nearly the identity matrix. Our results provide simple rules for pairing of variables. We also extend the known method for calculating RGA for interacting systems to BRG.

Closed Loop Properties and Block Relative Gain

Block Relative Gain (BRG) is a useful method for screening alternatives for block decentralized control at the design stage. In this paper, we establish the connection between BRG and closed loop properties like stability, input output controllability, block diagonal dominance and interactions. Based on these results, simple rules for pairing selection for block decentralized control are proposed.

Partial Relative Gain: A New Tool for Control Structure Selection

A new procedure for analysis and selection of control structures is presented. In addition to the relative gain array (RGA) for the entire openloop system, the RGA for the system under partial control is considered. This partial relative gain (PRG) provides necessary conditions for a control con guration to be integral controllable with integrity. The PRG also solves the variable pairing proble...

Moisture Diffusion Properties of Fabric Composite (Glass Fiber/Epoxy Resin)

In this study, the effect of hygrothermal conditioning on the moisture diffusion properties of the fabric composite (glass fiber/epoxy resin) was investigated. The water uptake of the specimens conditioned in humid environment at different relative humidities (0, 60 and 96 % r.h) at constant temperature (60°C) was evaluated by weight gain measurements. The moisture diffusion properties of the f...

Modulation Response and Relative Intensity Noise Spectra in Quantum Cascade Lasers

Static properties, relatively intensity noise and intensity modulation response in quantum cascade lasers (QCLs) studied theoretically in this paper. The present rate equations model consists of three equations for the electrons density in the conduction band and one equation for photons density in cavity length. Two equations were derived to calculate the noise and modulation response. Calcula...

Performance Evaluation of the NOMA in Imperfect SIC Mode and Ergodic Capacity Maximization with User Pairing Scenario in Three Users Groups

This paper evaluates the problem of user pairing scenario with similar channel conditions in NOMA with three users per pair. The small difference in the channel gain of the paired users leads to interference in the process of successive interference cancelation (SIC). The incidence of imperfect SIC reduces system capacity. Also, mid users in this scenario will be deprived of the advantages prov...
